“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”
~Jon Kabat-Zinn
I have had some pretty big waves in my life, and it seems like we’re all getting hit with some massive swells this year. I think we’re learning how to surf in all conditions.
Surfing is not easy at all; it requires so much courage, learning new skills, great coaching, dedication, a strong and flexible body, acceptance of the unknown, getting out of your comfort zone, facing the reality of death, acknowledging the power of the Earth, and relying on others to save you when it becomes too much.
Hmmmm, The metaphors of surfing and life...
Sometimes I wonder why I love it so much. I know some of these are the reasons why. Surfing inspires me to be my best self, to help heal the planet, and to empower others to go after their dreams to thrive AND make the world a better place. I’m so honored and grateful to be coaching and mentoring women at this time in history.
I’ve been sitting at my computer all day long today (not catching waves by the way) creating all the juicy content for my new yoginipreneurs mentorship group for next year. After watching what this year‘s group has accomplished creating online communities, businesses, and incomes as they make an impact in the world, I have to get over my fears to show up, and get ready to start promoting it. This is not one of our favorite things to do, but I always tell the women in my group, when your desire to serve is greater than your fear, you will get out of your way and just do it! With love, authenticity, generosity of spirit, and a dream to make lives, and this world, a better place. And so it goes. I’m excited for the new sisterhood that is already coming together!
“My passion for surfing was more than my fear of sharks.”
